The best injection sites are the upper outer quadrant of the glute or the outer thigh (vastus lateralis) using a 23G to 25G needle (1 to 1.5 inches) for the injection and a larger 18G needle to draw the oil from the vial.

For your first time, keep it simple.
Best spots are the glute or ventroglute, both are easy and reliable for self injection.
Use an 18–20G needle to draw, then switch to a 23–25G needle to inject. Around 1 to 1.5 inch for glutes, 1 inch for other areas.
Take it slow, keep everything clean and rotate sites.
